I inevitably wind up “making things” to use in my personal life, things that no one else is making, and that can not be purchased. I built many different model airplanes in my youth, and this was a great start to understanding how things went together. On top of that, I grew up around wooden-boat building. My dad built a boat in our yard, when I was growing up. My years of house building consumed much of my life energy, but I love just making things, in general, whether it’s modifying a car, or making a collapsable ski pole, building a 20′ wing span steel butterfly, or a one man teeter-totter.
